YouTube RPM and CPM in the United States
YouTube RPM in the United States is about $10.81 per 1,000 views on Lenos's estimate, the only RPM this page quotes (YT Money Calculator's "Creator RPM" is left out, see below), and published CPM estimates run from $14.67 to $36.00. Google publishes no official figure for any country. The United States is the benchmark every other country is measured against — and it is not first on every list.

Every published estimate for the United States
Google publishes no CPM or RPM figure by country — not in YouTube Help, not in the Analytics documentation. These are the third-party sources this site tracks that cover the United States, with the date each last updated its figures. We re-read them against this table on November 3, 2026.
| Source | Updated | CPM | RPM | Stated method |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| YT Money Calculator | Mar 13, 2026 | $32.00–$36.00 | not published | February–March 2026 averages across all niches. No further method stated. |
| Lenos | Apr 2, 2026 | $32.75 | $10.81 | States only that the authors reviewed channel data and dashboards. No method stated. |
| MilX | Oct 30, 2026 | $14.67 | not published | Says its US figure is CPM data from 3,000+ channels in the MilX and AIR Media-Tech network, published June 2025. No further method stated. |
Across these sources the highest CPM estimate is 2.5× the lowest ($36.00 against $14.67). Lenos's single figure ($32.75) falls inside YT Money Calculator's range ($32.00–$36.00). MilX's single figure ($14.67) is below the bottom of YT Money Calculator's range ($32.00–$36.00).
Lenos's RPM in the United States is 33.0% of its own CPM. Lenos gives the same share, to within a tenth of a percentage point, to 9 other countries (Australia, Canada, New Zealand, Switzerland, the United Kingdom, Norway, Germany, Ireland and the Netherlands), so its RPM reads as the CPM multiplied by a fixed factor rather than a separate measurement; Lenos itself labels the column an estimation. YT Money Calculator also prints a "Creator RPM" column, which it describes as 55% of CPM; this page leaves it out, because RPM is not CPM × 0.55 (checked November 3, 2026).
The United States against its neighbours
Compared with the countries that share its language or its region, and with the larger markets its channels can reach. The CPM column is YT Money Calculator alone — the one source that covers nearly every country here — so the ratio compares like with like; RPM is Lenos's. In the last column 1.00× is the United States itself and 2.00× would be double its CPM.
| Country | CPM (YT Money Calculator) | RPM (Lenos) | CPM vs the United States |
|---|---|---|---|
| United States | $32.00–$36.00 | $10.81 | 1.00× |
| Canada | $28.00–$32.00 | $9.62 | 0.88× |
| United Kingdom | $15.00–$24.00 | $7.12 | 0.57× |
| Australia | $36.00–$40.00 | $11.95 | 1.12× |
| Mexico | $1.60–$3.50 | $0.62 | 0.08× |
By the midpoint of every published CPM, the United States is No. 2 of the 38 countries this site has estimates for; by Lenos's RPM it is No. 2 of 29.
What sets ad rates in the United States
Both YT Money Calculator and Lenos put Australia above the United States ($36.00–$40.00 and $36.21, against $32.00–$36.00 and $32.75); only MilX ranks the United States first ($14.67, Australia $13.30).
The sources disagree more on the level than on the order: MilX's $14.67 is under half of YT Money Calculator's low end. MilX says its US figure is CPM data from more than 3,000 channels in the MilX and AIR Media-Tech network, published in June 2025 — older than the October 2026 date on MilX's page suggests. None of the three says which of YouTube's CPM figures it is quoting.
For creators outside the US, American viewers carry one more rule: with tax info on file, the earnings from US viewers are the only earnings US tax is withheld from (see below).
YouTube's own explanation is short: advertisers choose which geographies their ads reach, and different locations have different levels of competition in the ad market. The season moves it too — many advertisers bid higher just before holidays. So when the share of your viewers in each country shifts, your CPM shifts with it (YouTube Help, verified November 3, 2026).
Worked example: 100,000 views in the United States
At Lenos's RPM of $10.81 per 1,000 views, 100,000 monthly views from viewers in the United States come to about $1,081 a month, and 1,000,000 views to about $10,810.
Few channels draw from one country. If half of those 100,000 views — 50,000 — came from India instead, where the same source puts RPM at $0.46, the month would come to about $564 rather than $1,081.
This is arithmetic on one publication's estimate, not a forecast. Your real RPM, split by country, is in YouTube Studio under Analytics → Revenue, on the Geography card.
Getting paid in the United States: currency and threshold
AdSense pays YouTube earnings once the balance reaches the payment threshold, which Google sets per reporting currency. For an account whose reporting currency is the US dollar, it is $100 (AdSense Help, verified November 3, 2026).
When an advertiser pays in another currency, AdSense converts at the prevailing market rate from the day before the ads were shown. If your bank account is in yet another currency, your bank may convert a second time at its own rate (AdSense Help).
For creators in the United States, Google withholds no tax on earnings once valid tax info is on file. The withholding falls on the other side: creators outside the US have 0–30% of the earnings from their US viewers withheld, depending on their tax treaty, and up to 24% of all their earnings worldwide if they submit no tax info (YouTube Help, verified November 3, 2026).
The country sets the rate; hours on air set the views. TheLoops keeps a stream live on YouTube 24/7 from the cloud, so viewers in the United States and everywhere else find it running whenever they look.

Australia, on two of the three sources: YT Money Calculator gives Australia $36.00–$40.00 against $32.00–$36.00, and Lenos $36.21 against $32.75. MilX ranks the United States first.
Google withholds US tax on the earnings from US viewers: 0–30% depending on whether your country has a tax treaty with the US, once you have submitted tax info; without it, Google may be required to deduct up to 24% of your total worldwide earnings (YouTube Help, verified November 3, 2026).
About $10.81 per 1,000 views, on Lenos's estimate (updated April 2, 2026) — the only RPM this page quotes for the United States; YT Money Calculator also prints a "Creator RPM", which it describes as about 55% of CPM, so it is left out. Google publishes no official figure. Your own RPM, split by country, is in YouTube Studio under Analytics → Revenue.
Published estimates run from $14.67 to $36.00: YT Money Calculator $32.00–$36.00 (updated March 13, 2026); Lenos $32.75 (updated April 2, 2026); MilX $14.67 (updated October 30, 2026). They disagree because none of the sources says which of YouTube's CPM figures it means, and none describes its method in more than a sentence or two.
About $1,081 at Lenos's estimated RPM of $10.81, and about $10,810 for 1,000,000 views — if every view comes from the United States. Views from other countries earn their own rates, and RPM moves with niche and season.
AdSense pays YouTube earnings once the balance reaches the payment threshold, which Google sets per reporting currency. For an account whose reporting currency is the US dollar, it is $100 (AdSense Help, verified November 3, 2026).
