YouTube RPM and CPM in India

YouTube RPM in India is about $0.46 per 1,000 views on Lenos's estimate, the only RPM this page quotes (YT Money Calculator's "Creator RPM" is left out, see below), and published CPM estimates run from $0.60 to $1.40. Google publishes no official figure for any country. India is one of only two countries covered by all three sources where both single figures fall inside YT Money Calculator's range — the estimates agree here, and they are low.

Every published estimate for India

Google publishes no CPM or RPM figure by country — not in YouTube Help, not in the Analytics documentation. These are the third-party sources this site tracks that cover India, with the date each last updated its figures. We re-read them against this table on November 3, 2026.

Across these sources the highest CPM estimate is 2.3× the lowest ($1.40 against $0.60). Lenos's single figure ($0.83) falls inside YT Money Calculator's range ($0.60–$1.40). MilX's single figure ($0.74) falls inside YT Money Calculator's range ($0.60–$1.40).

Lenos's RPM in India is 55.4% of its own CPM. Lenos gives the same share, to within a tenth of a percentage point, to one other country (Indonesia), so its RPM reads as the CPM multiplied by a fixed factor rather than a separate measurement; Lenos itself labels the column an estimation. A 55% share is exactly the CPM × 0.55 shortcut, which overstates RPM because it ignores the views that carry no ad — read this RPM as the top of a range. YT Money Calculator also prints a "Creator RPM" column, which it describes as 55% of CPM; this page leaves it out, because RPM is not CPM × 0.55 (checked November 3, 2026).

India against its neighbours

Compared with the countries that share its language or its region, and with the larger markets its channels can reach. The CPM column is YT Money Calculator alone — the one source that covers nearly every country here — so the ratio compares like with like; RPM is Lenos's. In the last column 1.00× is India itself and 2.00× would be double its CPM.

CountryCPM (YT Money Calculator)RPM (Lenos)CPM vs India
India$0.60–$1.40$0.461.00×
Pakistan$0.40–$0.90$0.200.65×
Bangladesh$0.30–$0.70$0.330.50×
Indonesia$0.40–$0.95$0.410.68×
Philippines$0.45–$1.00$0.150.73×
United States$32.00–$36.00$10.8134.00×

By the midpoint of every published CPM, India is No. 32 of the 38 countries this site has estimates for; by Lenos's RPM it is No. 25 of 29.

What sets ad rates in India

All three sources cover India and they roughly agree: YT Money Calculator $0.60–$1.40, Lenos $0.83, MilX $0.74. Bangladesh is the only other country where that happens; for the United States, by contrast, MilX is less than half of YT Money Calculator's low end.

Within South Asia, India ($0.60–$1.40 on YT Money Calculator) is above Pakistan ($0.40–$0.90) and Bangladesh ($0.30–$0.70). On Lenos, India's RPM is $0.46, Pakistan's $0.20 and Bangladesh's $0.33.

YouTube prices each view by where the viewer is, so an Indian channel with an audience abroad earns those viewers' rates: on Lenos, $10.81 RPM for views from the United States and $7.12 from the United Kingdom. With tax info on file, the US views are also the only ones US tax is withheld from (see below).

YouTube's own explanation is short: advertisers choose which geographies their ads reach, and different locations have different levels of competition in the ad market. The season moves it too — many advertisers bid higher just before holidays. So when the share of your viewers in each country shifts, your CPM shifts with it (YouTube Help, verified November 3, 2026).

Worked example: 100,000 views in India

At Lenos's RPM of $0.46 per 1,000 views, 100,000 monthly views from viewers in India come to about $46 a month, and 1,000,000 views to about $460.

Few channels draw from one country. If half of those 100,000 views — 50,000 — came from the United States instead, where the same source puts RPM at $10.81, the month would come to about $564 rather than $46.

This is arithmetic on one publication's estimate, not a forecast. Your real RPM, split by country, is in YouTube Studio under Analytics → Revenue, on the Geography card.

Getting paid in India: currency and threshold

AdSense pays YouTube earnings once the balance reaches the payment threshold, which Google sets per reporting currency — and the Indian rupee (INR) is not among the 28 currencies in Google's table. For an account reporting in US dollars it is $100 (AdSense Help, verified November 3, 2026).

When an advertiser pays in another currency, AdSense converts at the prevailing market rate from the day before the ads were shown. If your bank account is in yet another currency, your bank may convert a second time at its own rate (AdSense Help).

With valid tax info submitted, only the earnings from viewers in the United States are subject to US tax withholding: 0–30%, depending on whether your country has a tax treaty with the US. If no tax info is provided, Google may be required to deduct up to 24% of your total earnings worldwide (YouTube Help, verified November 3, 2026).
