YouTube RPM and CPM in Germany
YouTube RPM in Germany is about $6.20 per 1,000 views on Lenos's estimate, the only RPM this page quotes (YT Money Calculator's "Creator RPM" is left out, see below), and published CPM estimates run from $9.79 to $18.79. Google publishes no official figure for any country. All three sources cover Germany, and the German-speaking countries around it are priced quite differently.

Every published estimate for Germany
Google publishes no CPM or RPM figure by country — not in YouTube Help, not in the Analytics documentation. These are the third-party sources this site tracks that cover Germany, with the date each last updated its figures. We re-read them against this table on November 3, 2026.
| Source | Updated | CPM | RPM | Stated method |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| YT Money Calculator | Mar 13, 2026 | $10.00–$18.00 | not published | February–March 2026 averages across all niches. No further method stated. |
| Lenos | Apr 2, 2026 | $18.79 | $6.20 | States only that the authors reviewed channel data and dashboards. No method stated. |
| MilX | Oct 30, 2026 | $9.79 | not published | Says its US figure is CPM data from 3,000+ channels in the MilX and AIR Media-Tech network, published June 2025. No further method stated. |
Across these sources the highest CPM estimate is 1.9× the lowest ($18.79 against $9.79). Lenos's single figure ($18.79) is above the top of YT Money Calculator's range ($10.00–$18.00). MilX's single figure ($9.79) is below the bottom of YT Money Calculator's range ($10.00–$18.00).
Lenos's RPM in Germany is 33.0% of its own CPM. Lenos gives the same share, to within a tenth of a percentage point, to 9 other countries (Australia, the United States, Canada, New Zealand, Switzerland, the United Kingdom, Norway, Ireland and the Netherlands), so its RPM reads as the CPM multiplied by a fixed factor rather than a separate measurement; Lenos itself labels the column an estimation. YT Money Calculator also prints a "Creator RPM" column, which it describes as 55% of CPM; this page leaves it out, because RPM is not CPM × 0.55 (checked November 3, 2026).
Germany against its neighbours
Compared with the countries that share its language or its region, and with the larger markets its channels can reach. The CPM column is YT Money Calculator alone — the one source that covers nearly every country here — so the ratio compares like with like; RPM is Lenos's. In the last column 1.00× is Germany itself and 2.00× would be double its CPM.
| Country | CPM (YT Money Calculator) | RPM (Lenos) | CPM vs Germany |
|---|---|---|---|
| Germany | $10.00–$18.00 | $6.20 | 1.00× |
| Austria | $4.00–$8.00 | $5.10 | 0.43× |
| Switzerland | $24.00–$28.00 | $7.63 | 1.86× |
| Netherlands | $9.00–$15.00 | $5.86 | 0.86× |
| France | $6.00–$11.00 | no estimate | 0.61× |
| United Kingdom | $15.00–$24.00 | $7.12 | 1.39× |
By the midpoint of every published CPM, Germany is No. 8 of the 38 countries this site has estimates for; by Lenos's RPM it is No. 8 of 29.
What sets ad rates in Germany
Germany, Austria and Switzerland share a language and not a price. On YT Money Calculator Switzerland ($24.00–$28.00) is well above Germany ($10.00–$18.00) and Austria ($4.00–$8.00) well below it; Lenos narrows the gap, with Germany at $18.79, Austria $16.86 and Switzerland $23.13.
On all three sources Germany has the highest CPM of any EU country in this dataset — ahead of the Netherlands ($9.00–$15.00 on YT Money Calculator) and France ($6.00–$11.00) — while the United Kingdom, outside the EU, is higher on two of the three ($15.00–$24.00 on YT Money Calculator, $21.59 on Lenos; MilX has it at $8.91 against Germany's $9.79).
YouTube's own explanation is short: advertisers choose which geographies their ads reach, and different locations have different levels of competition in the ad market. The season moves it too — many advertisers bid higher just before holidays. So when the share of your viewers in each country shifts, your CPM shifts with it (YouTube Help, verified November 3, 2026).
Worked example: 100,000 views in Germany
At Lenos's RPM of $6.20 per 1,000 views, 100,000 monthly views from viewers in Germany come to about $620 a month, and 1,000,000 views to about $6,200.
Few channels draw from one country. If half of those 100,000 views — 50,000 — came from Austria instead, where the same source puts RPM at $5.10, the month would come to about $565 rather than $620.
This is arithmetic on one publication's estimate, not a forecast. Your real RPM, split by country, is in YouTube Studio under Analytics → Revenue, on the Geography card.
Getting paid in Germany: currency and threshold
AdSense pays YouTube earnings once the balance reaches the payment threshold, which Google sets per reporting currency. For an account whose reporting currency is the euro, it is €70 (AdSense Help, verified November 3, 2026).
When an advertiser pays in another currency, AdSense converts at the prevailing market rate from the day before the ads were shown. If your bank account is in yet another currency, your bank may convert a second time at its own rate (AdSense Help).
With valid tax info submitted, only the earnings from viewers in the United States are subject to US tax withholding: 0–30%, depending on whether your country has a tax treaty with the US. If no tax info is provided, Google may be required to deduct up to 24% of your total earnings worldwide (YouTube Help, verified November 3, 2026).
The country sets the rate; hours on air set the views. TheLoops keeps a stream live on YouTube 24/7 from the cloud, so viewers in Germany and everywhere else find it running whenever they look.

No — each view earns the rate of the viewer's country. Lenos puts RPM at $6.20 for Germany, $5.10 for Austria and $7.63 for Switzerland, so the same German-language video earns differently in each.
About $6.20 per 1,000 views, on Lenos's estimate (updated April 2, 2026) — the only RPM this page quotes for Germany; YT Money Calculator also prints a "Creator RPM", which it describes as about 55% of CPM, so it is left out. Google publishes no official figure. Your own RPM, split by country, is in YouTube Studio under Analytics → Revenue.
Published estimates run from $9.79 to $18.79: YT Money Calculator $10.00–$18.00 (updated March 13, 2026); Lenos $18.79 (updated April 2, 2026); MilX $9.79 (updated October 30, 2026). They disagree because none of the sources says which of YouTube's CPM figures it means, and none describes its method in more than a sentence or two.
About $620 at Lenos's estimated RPM of $6.20, and about $6,200 for 1,000,000 views — if every view comes from Germany. Views from other countries earn their own rates, and RPM moves with niche and season.
